Fuel Pump Help
oK, i was driving my truck down the highway in kentucky(im active duty navy) and it starts to bucking and acting all crazy. it looses all power. and im like dang i think my fuel pump just went out. i set on the side of the road for 2 hours waiting on AAA tow truck.
the truck would start but it would only run for like 15 seconds.
so i hop in the tahoe and drive to va. back to base.
well my uncle goes to put my HP fuel pump in that i got from Nelson perf. and he said i cant figure it out. so im just going to put a stock one in. so im like thats cool i just need the truck running so my wife can drive it..
so he puts it in and the truck still wont run.
if you let it set for a while it will run for like 20 seconds and then it shuts back off. but if you check the fuel pump it will shoot fuel all over the floor he says. could it be somethign else. or maybe i need a new PCM? any help would be great. thanks larry

sounds like the VATS is shutting it off

ok so what do i need to do.
another buddie of mine siad it might be some kind of anti theft thing.
how do i reset the vats??
vehicle anti theft system??? is that what that stands for??? thansk for your help man. larry

Yeah, Vehicle Anti-Theft System. It can be disabled completely in the tune. The BCM module sends a signal to the PCM to let it know that the correct key(if you have a diode type key) has been used to start the truck. Allen can completely remove it for you if you ask. It could be a key-tumble issue or even a BCM issue if VATS is shutting the truck down.
