im in the middle of putting my ss back together, i just ajusted my new comp 1.75 rockers and i cant put the vavle cover on, on the pass side it just hits coil back mount, and the other side hits the baffels, has anyone else had this problem? do they make spacers or a taller aftermarket vavle cover?
i had the same problem with comps.just cut the rivets that hold the baffles on ,then take a grinder and grind out all high spots inside valve covers.it easy.10 minutes.dont be scared lol
thanks ive done the same, i read a form on buget built ls1 that had the same problem with slp rockers, have you had any blowby issues with the pcv valve, or do you run a breather?

This is what I did. I wanted to keep the baffle in. The holes made at the end and where the stud needs to be ground down, I inserted pieces of aluminum inside the holes before I hammered the baffle down. The holes are on top of the push rods oil squirter holes and I didn't want oil up there.
What follows is what I posted before.
If your left valve cover doesn't fit because the CC roller rocker studs hit the breather plate, don't fear. Grind the valve cover lip that is underneath the end of the plate, elongate the breather holes in the plate, grind out the stud boss --you will find it when you start beating the aluminum plate, put a piece of aluminum sheet inside each of the two gaps to close up the holes or else the vacuum might suck too much oil into the breather system. Then beat the plate down into the valve cover measure and check by putting it on with out the gasket. Silicon the bolt hole you opened up when putting the coils on.:twocents:
