T56 transmission from 1999 c5 Corvette
t56 transmission from a 1999 c5 corvette 550$ Thats a smokin deal right?
I was wondering if you guys new if that would fit my truck (see sig.), and if it does what parts would i need to adapt it. What should i look for if i go look at?
That'd be a great deal... if you want to put an IRS in your truck. Unfortunately the Vette's use a trans-axle combo. You'll need a T-56 out of an f-body or Viper for your application.
krwyellowZ28 Currently, my only goal is to get my truck faster than my brother's rclb Duramax.
i have that same stinking problem with my brother. He's got the 06 duramax 4 door regular bed. 9'lift, and rolling on 37's and with the edge, his truck is fast as HECK. I think i finally got him though. I was on it pretty good today on the way home from getting my truck tuned and i was able to stay with him, and start pulling on him around 4 rpm's. Once i get a new t56 in, i should beable to pull on him pretty good. :D
As you put miles on your new tune, your truck will get quicker. Wait for about a month. Put about 1k miles on the tune and you should be able to walk away...
The D-Max's run pretty good with a few easy upgrades. My brother has an '01 rclb 4x4 with 33's, abreviated exhaust (the new 4" is still sitting in the garage in a box :bash:), swiss-cheesed stock air box, a Super Chips programer and the Edge Juice/Attitude. With it stacked to the highest (90+120 I believe), he ran a 14.1 straight off the farm. Removing the tool box, tail gate, headlight, and switching back to the 265's got him down to a 13.8. That's faster than my old '93 6 spd bolt-on Z28.
And the kicker is, when it was time to head home, we put everything back in it, and then it pulled another tuck and 2 rockets home on the 25' dove tail.
