more FUEL PRESSURE CRAP
:bs: 6 months ago I had a low fuel pressure problem.... 48psi @idle and 56ish with no Vac to the Reg... Installed a 255 pump and Hotwire kit... SAME thing... I removed the bucket about 5 times and kept looking for a problem replaced the regulator, filter, everything ... still had pressure drop... put a scanner on it and found 110% duty cycle.. that was with 10 fuel injectors.... So I ditched that stuff.. installed 60lb motrons fuel pressure its 56@ idle no Vac on reg and half a tank of fuel ... top of first it starts to drop off... back up to 56 on the Shift .. then back down .. soon as its hits third its a dead horse ! getting down into 20-25ish !!!!!! How do you Gut out a stock fuel pressure Reg? I have a aeromotive adjustable reg .. what happens if i clap off the retun line and see what happens??.. hell i might even drive it down the road and see if it helps anything :bash:

You should be able to install the new FPR in the return hose and make the pressure higher. There must be something wrong with the flow if you get sown in the 20's range WOT. I think some have had problems with the plug not making a good connection. Maybe try swapping some relays around. Run a hot wire directly to the regulator ass'y. Check your ground on the sending unit.

I dont make enough HP to drain a 255 without a hotwire kit.. I dont see why my pressure is falling off with one... and i dont feel like pulling the tank out again and again and not having parts to FIX anything...

If you have a leak in the connection from the pump to the line then you'll have good pressure at idle but run lean at cruise or acceleration. It's a common issue.

So whats the thoughts on the camaro harness on a truck? everyone seems to be telling me they are not the same?? guess when i pull the pump i can check voltage myself .... I plan to have it out tonight and go back with #6

measure voltage at the battery then measure it at the pump. Measure the voltage at the pump with it running if you can.

I found it !.. let me try and post a pic... what is the brass nipple on the top of the pump itself?? mine is spraying fuel everywhere ! i bet its my pressure loss

Never been inside a NBS fuel can but my 97 Astro had a fitting similar to that for filling the fuel bucket and cooling off the pump with fresh fuel.

Casey I had o replace the hose clamps at the pump and the top of the hose inside the tank. Get good US made clamps. It fixed my problem.
