Looking for a cam for my 6.0L

Hi guys, I haven't got my 6.0 in my truck yet, but with any hope, this weekend. I have a 2000 silverado soon with a 6.0 and the stock 5 speed transmission. I will be changing that in the near future to a t56. I called comp cams inquiring about a cam and they suggested part # 54-452-11. I'm looking for a noticable idling difference. I would like to get lope(I believe thats what its called). The specs are on the following link:

They told me the only thing necessary to do along with this would be dual exhaust and a tune. Is anybody running this cam? If so, can you send me a clip of it. Thanks for your help everybody.

How do you plan on using your truck? Racing or a daily driver, or both?

For racing the 224 cam is a great choice!
For a daily driver the 216 cam provides a lot of lowend torque.
One of our favorites cams is the 220 cam, a great compromise.
You'll also need the comp 928 springs (the 918 springs from comp are on hold , not for sale )
It's also a good idea to install some hardened pushrods.
Headers are almost a must for a cam, at least to see the most potential from it.
Yes, a tune will be needed.

That's a very good all around cam from what I've seen. :thumb:

I plan on doing a little of both, racing and daily drivin. I just don't want to get something too small and regret it later.

the TR224 is a strong proven cam. daily drivable for sure but with a standard i would want to go bigger...thats just me though hahahah. just dont go so big that its out of your rpm range. im sure it can be tricky shifting past 6000 in a standard without an aftermarket tach.

Does you or anybody have a video or sound clip of this cam? I not only want the power gain, but I also want it to sound noticably different. Does it have alot of lope?
