How in the world do you get the crank sprocket off to reuse? I have a puller, but was scared it would snap the teeth off the sprocket?
I might have a RUNNING 408 this weekend!

very carefully. no actually I dont know.
but I do know I want a ride when its running.
I think I would just get a new one. Cool on the running this weekend part.
Hmmm, damnit.
Wrap the old chain around it on the teeth and wire it together so it won't fall off, then pull on the chain if you must reuse it.
Use the combination of Greg's and David's posts--pull on the chain very carefully so that you don't break off the teeth. It will come off, just don't pry to hard at once. Try to pull evenly arcoss the sprocket. A little tap from a hammer can help... You may try pulling, tapping, pulling, tapping, etc. If all else fails, go grab a little torch and heat up the sprocket---a little heat will work wonders!
Thanks guys. For $30, I just went and bought a new one!
