What heads to use for 6.0 L build??

I plan on getting a 6.0L here in the near future either an LS2 or a LQ4,9. What im wondering is what kind of heads to use. Scoggin Dickey has the L92 heads with .600 lift springs for $999. or is there something else out there that is better for the money.. Also what would be a good cam to use, I dont want to run higher than a 2000 stall converter cuz this is my daily driver and has to get some kinda gas milage and be able to drive it in the rain... Please throw in your opnion I would appreciate it..

Well this is going in a 2001 rcsb, and my plan is to beat up on rice, mustangs and any other pesky thing that might pull up beside me. Not looking for strickly quarter mile performance looking for a blend of both speed and quickness... I have already added a Hotchkis TVS system and upgraded the brake system. So now its time to boogie. My 5.3 has just over 100k on it and i know its going to be tired soon.. So plan is to up grade rear with new posi and 4.10's, better trans and a 6.0L... Hope that gives you guys a good idea of my intentions...

L92s are too much head for a 6.0, the valve is MASSIVE for a 4" bore. I'd run it on a 4.100" +.

If you only plan a 2000 stall, you want some high velocity port heads. Stick with the stock 6.0 heads (which ever is on your motor). Have them cleaned up, valves refaced, new springs, and motor on. I would run at least a 2500rpm stall... even those are MILD.

AFRs are way overkill... for a good budget set of heads that work with factory manifold call Livernois and get their stage 1.5 LSx head. Cost is right around $1100 shipped and they are way more than capable of hitting 500rwhp na in an fbody with the right setup. L92s aren't to much head for a 6.0L, just depends on how the motor is setup. The L92s like a big header for instance, HUGE gains have been made with L92 setups from simply switching from a 1.75" header to a stepped 1.875-2" header. Honestly a stock set of heads with a nice cam and a more aggressive stall will have the results you are looking for.

Wondertruck you have a very similar set up as to what im looking for.. What kinda numbers u running.. Also how daily drivable is your truck with the 3400 stall converter....... What about stock LS2 heads are these any good.. I might just consider getting a pulled LS2 and stuff it in my truck.

drive it to work, school, tow the boat to the lake, ANYTHING with the 3400. I have no idea what kind of power it makes, it has never seen a dyno. A 6.0L with some LS6/LS2 heads and a nice 224 or similar cam will be fine for what you want. Hell, stock 6.0L heads are good too, the LS6/2 will just bring up compression a bit!

Well the reason im curious about the stall is because i thought you had to keep the motor spinning at stall speed or higher to keep from burning up the converter. If im wrong please educate me. I might just get a manual out of a camaro any ways...
