I have a 99 scsb with the 4.3 v6 with auto trans. Also i am running a 17 inch rim with a 255/50 tire combo. Is it worth swapping out the 3.42s for a set of 4.10s?

worth swapping to do what?
perform better?
better 1/8mi ET/mph?
tow better?
wearout your tires faster?
what tire was on it stock?
airdeano
I had the 255/70r16 from the factory. I am wanting better out of the hole and 1/4 mile time but also managable driving on the highway. I am trying to to mods that will help me now but also preparing for a v8 swap.
def go 4.10s
id also consider a converter if i were you, maybe a I6 trailblazer one
what about 3.73?
3.42s to 3.73s imo wouldnt be worth it. id go for the 4.10s. you should be able to cruise at like 65-70 at 2200-2300 rpms, of course dont quote me on that one lol
3.73's all the way. with 4.10's ur gas mileage goes out the door. 3.73's are an all around performer with better driveability. if u g stall ur gas mileage suffers as well. unless ur stuck on the 4.3, id look to a diff motor. if u r stuck on the 4.3 turbo it. anyway u look at it rarely does gas mileage and power go together(except with 6 speeds A/T and M/T for that matter);)
ahhh shit i never even thought of that... i was thinkin of these things stallin at 2600 for the 5.3s, i guess your right Tex... maybe just go wit a yank 2600 then
if you are building up for a good performing v8 truck then i would get 3.73's and a good limited slip....i would wait on a stall until you have new trans and motor... after that get all cosmetics done
