i wouldnt even use the 80/85e...
the 60e weighs 163 lbs vs the 80e 255lbs
max rev 60e 6400rpm - max rev 80e 5200rpm
max torque 60e 610lb/ft - max 80e 885lb/ft
allowing that much power to have its shifting done by solenoids and
a force motor is sure-fire diaster.
id opt for a TH400 and gear vendor od unit. all mechanical, modulated
shifting, and no error checking yes-no-default
unless you have zippers and quik-disconnects for trans bolts prepare
for some expense.. major expense and down-time...
TH400/THglides are still handling more than that with smaller
budgets and pains...

that said... i used to wish i'd have kept my 375 (modified 350 in a 400 case... wasn't a true 400). only problem was that I wanted short rear gears for racing, but enough gear for highway usage (w/ lower rpms). the aftermarket OD units for those are too expensive (IMO). if you can find one that no one wants, fine, but to pay $1500 - $2000 for an OD add-on is insane (to me).
