I think I have posted this before. I have a leak somewhere under the passenger side carpet. it is under the carpet because the carpet itself is not wet, just under the carpet, the padding is soaked. Has anyone else experienced this, or know where it could be comeing from? I don't see any leaks anywhere, just water.

I think I know what your problem is, sometimes the a/c drainage will get dirty and clog up, find that drain hole and blow some air up there, i think that's how you do it.
Also, I have the same problem on my tahoe, but it doesn't leak enough to worry about it. Check your heater core, they are notorious for leaking behind the carpet and seeping down and soaking the padding.
That happened on my truck, when I replaced the carpet, i was like "that's what the f#%k was sticking and smelling like mold", lol. It was gross.

I bet it's condensation from the Dryer in the A/C system. Does this only happen when you have the A/C on or the Defroster?

It seems like it only happens when the a/c or defrost is on, but I never see it leaking just the water and soggy padding. If it is the dryer, is there any way to fix it, or do you just replace it.

Well, the dryer is supposed to leak. Its condensation on it..like if you leave a cold drink out and it slowly warms up.Quote:

My best guess would be pop your hood. The dryer is covered in some shiny jimmy hat. It's on the passanger side by the firewall. Run the truck for a while with the A/C on and pop the hood.
You should see the water dripping then from it (this is normal)...just follow the water to see where it does. Then maybe get some black RTV to seal it up...or reroute the hose or somethin. :thumb:

Doesn't the heater core usualy leak coolant. I had an S10 that the heater core went bad and leaked coolant. It seems that it is obly leaking water. I hope it isn't the heater core, those are a bitch to replace.Quote:

Yep, Hitman and Allen got it. Its the AC condensation leaking into the cab. I had this happen on my '98 and it was where the assy snapped together. It should be draining ok and that is the first thing to check like they said. If it can't drain easy like the tube is blocked or clogged a bit, it will back up and over flow the drip pan and leak down the firewall soaking the padding.... Let us know how it goes.

Ok, well we had some non stop rain last yesterday. I got home last night and on the passenger side the carpet was soaked. Where the condensation is leaking into the cab, could water being spashed up on to the truck while driving be leaking in at the same spot, or is this another problem. This only happens on the passenger side. This is driving me nuts, I have a puddle of water sitting on the passenger side :grr: .

Hey Randy,
If it's not the A/C drain,pull the carpet back and take the cover out from under the dash and the glove box.Shouldn't be but a buch of screws and about 30 mins.Get a water hose and run it on the outside of the truck and under it starting with slow water pressure and increasing the water pressure till you find it.Might have to jack it up and go under it,seen them leak through the body seams before.Probably the HVAC housing or a fresh air supply though :eek:
