i was thinking if they were driven internally by gears you could probably remove the serpentine belt for a track run. probably get a tad more power. very short term of course but im sure it would be good for a 1/4 mile.
i dont know how much power you could get by doing something like that. if it would even be worth it. with the water pump belt driven you would have to at least spin that.
If they were driven internally by a gear why would there be a belt on it?

You could run an electric Mezierre water pump instead. They're about $500+ but they free up all that drag and you won't have to run a belt at all except to charge the battery after the 1/4 mile run.
