Hey guys, I have a 87-89 dual tune from you guys and had e-fans enabled, along with a 180* thermostat that I wanted you to tune for.
The question I have, is if it will hurt my engine any by having the stock thermostat in there until I can get the 180* in there? Work is getting in the way at the moment. The temp guage stays at one tick below 210* and never moves after that...the fans come off and on at 30 second intervals or so, when idling, and I'm not sure when under load. But they must be working. The A/C switch will turn the fans on to 100%, so everything seems in order. So, until I can get the thermos switched out, am I in the green? Oh yeah, where should the temp guage be reading after the switch?
Thanks guys, very happy with the tune..for now, should be camming this thing soon.

I have a 180* t-stat in my truck and as far as the gauge goes, it still reads at about the same as it did before, which is where yours is now. You should be fine with the new fan settings and the stock t-stat IMO.

So I guess I really just wasted some cash then? That sucks. I was hoping for at least one tick down from where I am now.

Mine with the 160 shows about 180 on the gauge.

You guys do know that the lower temp tstat just allows the thermostat to open sooner right? It can still eventually climb to whatever temps your engine used to run at. It usually keeps it cooler LONGER, but that doesn't mean it's always going to stay lower.
I'm going to be selling my 160° if anyone is interested or will trade for your stocker and some cash.
