Well im going to be starting my swap this weekend and i have everything i need i believe. Ive seen a couple people on here have swapped from 4wd to 2wd which is my gameplan. I was looking underneath the truck last week and i have only one question
my plan is to remove the front diff and dissassemble the from axle shafts to the stubs and leave them in for the bearings. Now looking underneath the truck it looks like the only real frame to frame support is the diff. I havent seen a picture underneath a stock 2wd. Is there a crossmember for the front on the 2wd? different frame? Do i need to weld in a crossmember??
thanks to anyone who awnsers.
PS its a 94 k1500 152"wb xc longbed, putting in a 98 ls1 and 4l60e

frame differences are minimal, but to install the Kmemeber to the
4wd frame youll need a crash book to locate the Kmember, drill
the attaching holes and some minor cutting.
you can always use an aftermarket front stub assembly with
rack & pinion but starting @ $1600 might be pricey...
