Just installed the transmission and now I'm taking it out for a test drive.
This is in a 94 Suburban. I noticed that the rpm's would not drop much once I get going. Example, while driving on i75 at around 65 mph the rpm's were around 2300 to 2400 rpm. When I apply the brakes slightly the rpm's would go increase about 200. Tires size is 265/70/17(i believe) with a 3.42 rear, not sure if this helps.
I did install a transgo hd2 shift kit, not sure if I missed a step. I'm planning on dropping the pan and remove the valvebody. Maybe the valvebody gasket shifted on me when putting it back together. BTW, with the shift kit installed, I thought it would shift faster and a little firmer. At this time, it seems close to stock.
What do you thing I should check out.
Thanks

Yeah, with a 3.42 and 265/70/17's, you should not be at 2400 at 65 mph. Do you even feel it shift into 4th (OD)? If not, drop the pan and re-inspect everything. Re-read the instructions to see if you missed a step like you were talking about.
