Hey guys! I'm planning on doing my 5.3L as a full emissions install, which involves installing the EVAP canister.
As some of you may know, the canister sits just infront of the fuel tank, sitting on it's side. Is it alright to lay it down flat when you install it? If so, I can install it under my box like it was put there by the factory, if not, I'll have some more trouble, lol

what year model 5.3L the latter models can not function properly
as the roll-over valving is different..
airdeano

The canister was from a 2000 GMC 1/2 ton

I'd delete if with HPtuners and you'll still pass emissions unless you really want it.
-
I don't particularly need it for emissions or anything... I know it won't hurt the engine any having it disabled, but what does a guy do to block the line off on the engine side?
-
Take the purge valve and line off, then put a vacuum cap on the intake behind the throttle body and it's over.
-
Cool, seems easy enough, I'll probally do that...
What should I do with the canister line coming off my fuel tank's sending unit? Just block it off as well? Wouldn't that cause the tank to build up a bunch of pressure?

I have mine blocked and haven't had a problem yet. Anyone else here have an opinion on that? Mine is a 97 but I don't think there's much of a difference except for location.
