Not sure where to start with this...
I have the Spin Tech muffler. It's one of the best flowing mufflers you can get, and has a decent sound. Not a deep rumble like I was hoping for, but I can live with it. When I got it installed I had them leave the cats off. Only it was way too rattly and annoying sounding for my taste. So I had them weld them back in. But, when they put them in, I' pretty sure I noticed a loss in power.
So I'm trying to think of a solution. Is the solution to eliminate the cats and maybe use a different muffler - or is it going to be rattly regardless if I don't have cats? I know you can hollow out the cats and Allen can delete them so it will pass inspection. But if I do that, again, will they still be rattly?
Any solutions I'm not thinking of?

I have a borla on mine, and when i took off the cats it sounded louder and then when you give it gas it makes more noise. It's weird, i don't know how to explain it. I give it gas, and you hear the muffler but when the muffler would stop being loud originally, after the inital sound.it makes a louder sound without the cats. Plus, taking out the cats, give you a constent smell of gas hehe. My girlfriend has to hold her nose before she gets in my truck, lol

I just bought two new magnaflow cats and a 3" dual in/dual out muffler. Hopefully the cats don't kill my power. I have to pass a visual inspection so the cats are a must and I am doing my best to stay "green".

I'm with you Greg, I want to stay 'legal'. I just hate to have something that's slowing me down. Especially if there are two of them.
How about the FAST intakes...I've seen them but haven't seen pricing...

The best price I've seen on the FAST intakes is about $750 on Ebay. You have to convert the intake to an Fbody type intake to use it. I don't think FAST has a truck version.
