Has anyone ever pieced together a custom single turbo setup layed out similar to the STS rear mount kit? Looking at used/reconditioned turbo's and wastegates on e-bay, and seeing that I'm already an HP Tuners owner, I couldn't imagine that with some DIY work, a used turbo, and a wideband O2 it would add up anywhere near the STS MSRP. Another note, a custom supercharger setup would be cool too, except used/loose superchargers (centrifugal) are pricey.

He did a "mid" mount setup similar to what Mister P is mentioning. His best time so far in the 1/8 is

This is his mod list at the time of that run:
custom rearmount turbo set-up @ 11psi
base tune (really safe mail order tune)
Lakewood Traction bars
B&M shift kit + vette servos
UD pullies
OPEN DIFFRENTIAL w/ 3.42's on crappy falken Ziex tires
It's very easy to build a kit like the STS kit, just make sure you get an inline oil pump for the turbo!

Ya that truck has alot more in it and it's still a stock 4.3 lol
