Does anyone know what size the lq9 throttle body is in 05'? Isnt it like 80MM or something? I was just wondering because i was thinking of the l92 head upgrade and gm sells just the bare intake for about 250 instead of the whole complete deal. But the l92 uses a 90mm TB but i couldnt remember if the lq9 had an 80mm or 90mm TB. Im trying to find the cheapest way possible to do this conversion cause money doesnt grow on trees and also the smaller the budget you have the more fun you have making things turn out the way you want. So far all i know i need is heads, intake, gasket kit, Coolant, offest intake rockers, new bolts, maybe a few wiring connectors, case of beer, and about 8 hours tops.

I was going to buy bare heads, and buy the valves this will save about 200 bucks off the total project price vs buying assembled heads that will have parts i wont need. i already have comp springs that i know will work i just dont know if the valve stem diameter is still the same as all genIII's. If they are the same diameter i can use my exsisting retainers and locks. I want to upgrade to titanium retainers and locks but that kills the whole budget thing and blows the whole 200 bucks saved from buying bare heads.

Also doesnt the ls7 use a high rev lifter that is interchangeable with all gen III's? I was thinking this would be a cheap option to high rev lifters other compays offer. If the ls7 can hit 7000 rpm with no lifter problems than i should have no problem hitting 6400rpm.

Anyway just my thoughts. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Will lq9 heads fit on a 5.3? I might be able to sell my heads and intake to someone with a 5.3l since they cant bnefit from the l92 heads due to bore size. the l92 conversion might come out with a total head, intake, and 90mm TB package that ends up costing say 800 bucks. I dont know what lq9 heads and intake are worth so i figured 800 for heads and intake with TB and fuel rails.

Stock LQ9 TB is 78mm (like LS6). 80mm and ported (BBK) 80mm have not been received well, 90mm appears to be the trick setup.
