Thread: catless y pipe and o2s

    hey what would be the downside if any to getting rid of both the front AND rear o2s.... as opposed to just the (rear or front i forget which ones actually do something) thanks

    NELSON 93 hot tune, 02 PCM, VOLANT Ram air intake, MSD wires, ACdelco iridium plugs , Edelbrock ceramic shorty headers, jegs off-road y pipe, Dynamax int pipe, 3" Magnaflow Exhaust with turndown, EGR removal, throttle body bypass, vette servo, long servo pin, performance 4th apply piston, B&M shift kit, SLP 160* thermostat, LS1 Fans, NELSON harness, ported and polished throttle body (did it myself, for free lol)..... _______? cam is next as soon as i stop spending all my money

    the front ones are needed to feed back the air/fuel mixture to the pcm. the rear o2 sensors mesasure the converter efficency

    alright cool then i guess ill just keep the front ones... i already have it tuned for the off road y meaning rear o2s are off... just havent got the y pipe yet

    i get mine from jegs. i have an 02 z71 i put it on it was loud as shit with a super 40 flowmaster.

    I&#39;ve considered on of those myself. I have a FM 50. It wouldn&#39;t be as loud as yours.

    I&#39;m not 100% sure that a AV and Silv use the same Y but I think so.

    it might work on your av. part # is the same from 99 and up. it fits on my wifes 04 as well as my 02

    i was gonna go with th GM off road y but it comes to like &#036;300 ... so i bought the jegs one for 200 .... wonder how itl sound with a magnaflow... i bet that 106 octane race fuel will smell better lol

    yea it will smell better and be a little bit louder. i had a magnaflow on my 95gmc jimmy with no cat it was ok nice at idle and loud at wot.
