Hey man welcome. I have a 4.8L also and there are plenty of gadgets to make that thing run with the big dogs. I have SLP headers, 4.10 gears w/auburn limited slip, True duals w/IMCO extreme mufflers, oversized tranny cooler from flexalite, and run on 22's and I eat up alot of 5.3's and stock 96-03 stangs.Put you and sts turbo,or a radix supercharger and change those gears along with a nelson tune and you'll be spankin some ass.
2000 Chevrolet Silverado, 4.8L, K&N polished intake, 4.10 gears, 20x9 KMC SS on front, 22x10 on rear, Dual style pillar gauges, steel cowl hood, 2" rear drop shackles, true duals w/IMCO extreme mufflers w/dumps at rear end, SLP headers. Cam and nelson tune soon to come!!!!!

I run a 10.5 @ 68.5mph stock .... weird. Maybe I have 4.10s already? How do I check? I know first gear shifts at 41mph @ 5500 rpms. What gear does that sound like?

John, what is your truck 2wd or 4wd HD ,etc?

The reason my is so slow right now is that my cam has moved my power band up in the 4.5 to 6000 rpm range with stock gears that leaves me with nothing on the low end. now once i get my gears installed it will be a different story.

Yeah its a 4wd, 4.8 auto. Pretty basic too, no power windows, manual 4wd, no carpet.
