i have talked to someone at your office.but i cant seem to get this resolved.i had a trans go shift kit installed at the red bluff location.it shifted way to hard and i returned it to tone it down.i got it back and it was fine for one day.it began to slip in third gear. i returned it to the facility again.i wanted to pick it up but he talked me into letting him fix it.i picked it up today and it is still slipping when shifting into third gear.i did not purchase a warranty since it was not offered to me.it seems as if the shift kit was removed but my transmission is still slipping.i want it to work like it did before i had the service performed.i believe that you are responsible for making it work like it did before i dropped it off.this is turning into a nightmare for me.i believe that i should be reimbursed for my troubles.i plan on doing my best to make sure no one gets service from any of your centers.

this is what i sent there main office and i cannot get them to help me. they said that since i didnt buy a warranty they cannot help.

Damn you guys have crap for luck. I was tellin Badbow1 that I need to open a tranny place that caters mainly to hi-po ones without the insane pricing...

It's unfortunate you had such a bad experience, but don't let it shine a bad light on the rest of us who run reputable shops.HitmanX: I can only speak for myself when I say that I charge a price that might seem high to some people, but it's because you are getting the kind of attention and service that I give my own vehicles and would expect to get from others.
BadBow1:If you're not getting the kind of response you think you deserve from Cottman's customer service reps, then you should see if they belong to either A.T.R.A (Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association) or ATSG (Automatic Transmission Service Group). These two associations refer customers to their members and they should be aware of any complaints that have been ignored by Cottman's.

The master trans man has spoken.
That's some good info for reporting that company, sad to say but that's a story we've all heard. It's hard to find a trans shop that cares, like Joe's (Jag Performance)

I can speak from personal experience that Joe will absolutely build an awesome tranny, after three failed ones, I met him and it was all history for the trans problems. No matter how much it is, it's well worth the $$$.

If my trans can handle about 100 of these things on the track and street, you know it's a badass trans.
    Tuff ass tranny

    thanks for the post joe,

AND THIS IS WHAT I THINK OF COTTMAN'S :flipoff:

I don't have a problem paying more for a product or service when it is done correctly and my concerns have been addressed. I paid just under $400 for my shift kit install and servos too. If you were local to me, you'd for sure have my business 100%. I HATE poor workmanship...I dumped just under $10K at a speed shop before I knew I was getting screwed. It was my first vehicle to build and I didn't know any better until I got on the internet. Since then, I try to do everything myself.

The pricing I am referring to is for some trannies that were mildly built with an outrageous price. I can see one costing $2000+ for it being totally gone through and worked over. And shifting and performing how I'd like it to.

Seeing as how I should have my DMax in the spring, if (when in the proper term)the 4L60E goes out in this truck I have now I'd probably just tow it over to you and have it built. That way I know its going to be built properly with all the newer/performance internals.
