Hey for those of you who have the heavy ass 20's on an ext. cab (or reg cab) with the 4.8L, get some 4.10's!!!

Just got back from the shop and the 4.10's were installed in a 4.8L ext cab w/20's and my tuning. It feels so much better, the customer liked the tuning and it helped take off and all around power, but he was still down on take off due to the big tires, so i recommended some 4.10's, it's much better now,

just thought i'd share this and let you know it's a good mod. On the highway, his rpms were close to stock numbers.

btw, in a few weeks he's letting me put a 6.0L in his truck, i'll keep you guys updated and we'll def. get before and after dyno pulls:

    stock 4.8L with 20's
    tuning 4.8L with 20's
    6.0L w/ tuning

should be a nice upgrade in hp and torque, he's still deciding whether or not to get a cam before it goes in, you know my thought, hehe

Oh man, this is almost exactly what I want with my truck (except I only want 18's). I will be extremely interested. Is it an LQ4 or LQ9 6.0?

It will be a lQ4, but i'm having the engine built with the heads unassembled. I want to polish up the bowls and other stuff.
It will also have a cam in it, this one:

Thunder Racing Custom Camshaft - 220/220 .553/.553 114 LSA 1500-6500 RPM Power Band. Computer Tuning Required with automatic transmission cars. A very well balanced camshaft that makes excellent power across the entire RPM range. Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended.

I think this is nice, all around cam for his truck. Makes good power down low and revs up to 6500, not bad.

I may also talk him into getting a 2800 stall, we'll see on that one though, he's not into hot rodding, but he wants a fast truck.
I think the stock manifolds and exhaust will remain until we can decide on what to get and he can come up with money.
My choice will be some long tubes, either asm or something like that, and a custom dual 2.5" exhaust with magnaflows, i'll build the exhuast for him and put it all together. Should come out real nice.

i'll def. keep you guys updated,

    allen

Sweetness! Faster stuff is always great.

I'd make sure that truck gets some stall before that cam swap for sure! That cam will make some serious power.

You plan to use aluminum 6.0 heads? If so I'd mill them to about 63-65cc

hope you have ls1 edit or a diablo to get rid of torque management for that shift kit. if not it will hit the gear hard, like it should, then die for 2-3 sec. i've had 4.10's and a 2800 stall for the longest time and have had no probs what so ever. the thing shifts like there is a kit in it. programming is the hypertech
