    Cool

See the Outlaw below in the newest post

Hi, my name is Slamma and i'm worthless and weak. T Byrne was doing that double discount thing last week so i fell prey to my primal urges and bought an Outlaw intake. Damn, now where to get that $325 for the Caltracs I'm sure if someone handed me $5000 tomorrow it'd be spent the next day on an STS. Oh i'm all filled up with the sickness.

I was so tired of looking at the "K&N custom" box made from one of them eBay el-cheapo deals and couldn't take it anymore. It actually did a nice job, but just looked horrid.

Anyhow, the Outlaw kit has legitimate design features, is good quality and looks great. It definately adds some noticeable SOTP pulling power in the 3500-4000 rpm range.

Will post some pics on Slamma's Cardomain Page next chance i get.

Just trying to have some fun at my own expense, w/ my twisted humor. My wife says i'm not nearly as funny as i like to think. Maybe she's right. Nah!

I do like the new Outlaw. Will get some underhood of it tomorrow and post them up ASAP.

    Ya'll have a good weekend.

    It's a mystery to me

Still don't understand why i get the eye roll/head shake thing when saying really profound stuff like, 'Hell, I could turn the wheel as good as one of them NASCAR drivers.", or "Shoot, driving a funny car ain't that damn hard!". Makes me think she's a little

Okay, said i'd get some of the Outlaw posted.

Sticking them on CarDomain is easy and i'm just lazy, so check 'em out here -> Outlaw CAI

This picture Outlaw Kit is exactly what the kit looks like. The filter is a cotton-fibre/metal mesh type like a K&N.

i heard outlaw is an awesome intake. i never knew they had such a huge nutsack hanging off of them...

quick question. why would you need caltracks? a 4.8 without any "major" performance mods with a camper shell should get plenty traction. unless you have something your not telling us about

    old mod list: H/C/I/N/E/G 408
new mod list: 5.3, gears/posi, mufler and tune : (

So far so good w/ it for me. I was impressed by the product simply because their technical details actually had some scientific validity.

That nutsack [snicker] is a Hemholtz resonator bottle. It's akin in theory to those tuned "snorkel tubes" you find on motorcycle engines. The one on the Outlaw is tuned to provide a "boost" at about 3500 RPM. Just from a SOTP feel it does seem to work as advertised.

No, nothing secret on my little 4.8. My interest w/ the Caltracs is not so much "holeshot" traction, cause you're correct i don't have that problem. But, there are times when i become the "designated tower" for road trips, as much as 7000 lbs. My application for the Caltracs is to eliminate spring wrap-up and keep things lined up when the drive train is under load. I figure the ~$300 cost is like an insurance policy for my weak-ass 10 bolt rear end, u-joints, drive shaft, etc. Plus, an installed set does look really trick

Remember that cool video one of the guys posted showing the underside of his truck while driving? It amazing how much the rear end rotates even under moderate load.

Finally, when i swap in a new whatever LSx in the future, will be ready for the extra power
