    The 60 is dying!

Ok so I'm somewhat new here and I've got a question about my tranny. The truck has 148,xxx miles on it and the tranny is starting to go. I had planned on swapping out the old 4L60 for a 4L80 with future plans of dropping a 408 in and shooting for sub-12's. Not sure of power adders yet...I'd like to keep it N/A, but you never know. My question is would it be better to go ahead and do the 80 swap or just rebuild the 60? Maybe a 65? Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Who cares what it costs, it'll save him money in the long run.

Depends are you 2wd or 4wd. My 80 swap cost me about $2100ish but I'm awd so there's an estimate for you but my vote is 80 otherwise it's like hitting yourself in the head with a hammer

cross member just add a plate with some gussets to it for the mount youll need a vss plug and enough wire to wire to run it from the pcm to the tranny, and shortening the driveshaft
