I finally got my new cooler in. My old one was leeking, it seems the fins separated some how and started leeking. What a mess it made too. I decided to go with the Perma-Cool six pass trans cooler.
The install was easy and it just barely fit, actually a perfect fit.

The b&m ran my trans temp about 135deg in the morning on the way to work and about 160 on the way home in traffic with 95deg weather. I'll see how the Perma-Cool cooler cools on the way to the track tonight, i haven't hookup my diag tool to it since i installed it. It does look like it will cool better, it has the 6row pass tubing and is 14x10.5 inches.

    Later,

I'm looking to get a tranny cooler too. I know it isn't that much, but does it really help the longevity of the tranny?
I'm not covered under warranty, so I'd rather spend a little cash and have some peace of mind.
How hard is the install? I'd rather do it myself than pay someone. Looks easy enough

you can never have too much cooling for the trans, a cool running trans, say 170deg, will last a hell of a lot longer than one running at 200deg.

measure your space where the trans will be installed and get the largest cooler that will fit. the bigger the better, you really can't over cool the trans, and a cool trans is a happy trans.
to install, break the trans line that comes out of the radiator trans cooler, (hahah what a joke cooler), and coming from the trans line you just cut, run it to one of the openings on the new cooler, then the other opening on the cooler attatch it to the other side of the trans line you cut.

so it will flow like this:

in the radiator, out the radiator, in the trans cooler, out the trans cooler, to the trans, that should cool off the trans a whole bunch, i hope that made sense, it's way past my bedtime.

    good luck,
