    My Diff is toast

It looks like it's axle swap time.

I want to use a Moser Rear end housing and a Currie third member, cut off my housing ends and weld them to the Moser to retain my stock brakes and parking brake, and fab in a four link.

Is there an axle that would allow me to do this? Has anyone done this one here?

The only way that you could do that is if you bought the C-clip eliminator kit for the GM housing. Ford uses retainers on the axle ends to hold the axles in the housing, where GM uses C-clips in the carrier. I've actually never seen it done before. If you plan on doing this yourself make sure you have a narrowing kit to align the carrier to the housing ends or your rearend will eat bearings, and aligning the tubes by eye doesn't work.

    Alright guys. Here's the deal.

I scored a Ford 9" for free. So:
I run a 9" housing and third member.
Move all my end brackets for brakes and such to the 9" housing using some form of a narrowing kit to make sure that I get the bearings lined up right.
    Run a C-clip eliminator kit.
    Run a Custom Driveshaft

The only trouble I should have is tracking down the axles. Worse comes to worse, Moser should be able to make me a custom set.

Next item on the list, positioning the axle. I'm going to put in a 4-link. And I have most of that covered as far as how I'm going to handle that.

While I'm fabing, I want to lose the oem gas tank and install a fuel cell where the spare tire used to be. This is going to be where I need some guidance but am sure I'll be able to get some input from a few trustworthy people. I'm going to pick up a 16 gallon from summit ($140) and fab up the mounts but after that, I'm lost.

    Tell me what you think.
