    Compression Check ?'s

What psi should the cylinders have for a 2002 5.3l motor? Did a check yesterday and got 180 - 190 psi for all eight cylinders.

    Thanks,
    Paul Ham

That is really good. For static the main thing besides looking for a low readings is to make sure one is not too different than the rest. Leak down is a more useful measurement IMO.

withing 15 of highest to lowest is good numbers. anything outside that range i would be concern.

static depends on alot of things, my 4.8 only reads as high as 150 but it also has large cam and low compression

as gas guzzler said leak down is the key

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference
