    Overheating

I was coming home from work today and happened to look down to see my truck was running at 240, so i pulled over and let it sit for a few minutes, got home ok and looked under the truck and im pretty sure i got an anti freeze leak, i was using my cell phone as a light and it was 10 at night but its pretty easy to change a hose correct?

yeah depends if its the hose. I had a leak, thought it was the hose but turns out it was the thremostat housing gasket. threw some silicone on it ans no more leak. it could also be the gaskets that are between the block and the water pump.

Probably the water pump though. there is a weap hole on the water pump, you should see coolant coming from it.

Get some E-fans. They help take stress off the waterpump. And make sure that when you bolt it up to seat the W/P housing to the block--that you use the proper bolt tightening procedure...

Mechanical fans do not add stress to a water pump, unless the fan clutch is sticking locked up.

Yeah, that was the thing I was talking about. With any mechanical device, there is always room for failure, and I have seen that happen a few times. I have also seen mechanical fans that have come out of balance and effed up waterpumps...
