Question Computer knows to save fuel?

Didn't know where to put this...

Yesterday I am running low on fuel (light is on) and noticed my FP gauge is at 50 psi. Truck ran fine, no stumbling or running lean. Stopped & filled up, FP went back to 60 psi.

Does the computer know you are running low and reduces FP to conserve fuel? I understand if it was going dry, but the truck would have ran bad at some point.

I bet the pump is not getting enough fuel to supply 60psi.

I had the same Problem when I had a Racetronix 255 pump and Hotwire kit... Mine would start to idle worse,missfire... anything around 1/4 tank.. Not sure what your current fuel system is but Mine had the same troubles... it would vary 5-10psi based on tank level ... Its nothing electronic its in the fuel system itself...

Current setup is intank Walbro 255. everything else is stock. Truck never misfired or stumbled, only the pressure dropped. I probably had 1/16 of a tank...or less.

I was told thats a problem with the aftermarket pumps.. Did you install it yourself?.. Did you cut a hole in your fuel sender Bucket for the sock ?? or is the bucket still intact with the pump/sock inside of it...

Yeahg, cutting a hole in the bucket will help...but don't cut it out completely...the pump might slip down, putting stress on the wires and maybe kinking the tubes/hoses inside...

I did install it myself, but I can't remember. That was 2 years ago. I have never had a problem but just noticed it today.

Nothing computer control.. and low fuel pressure being to low fuel level with an aftermarket pump... possibly a Fuel Bucket with No Hole in it ... It would allow the pump/sock to dry most all the fuel out of the bucket as fast as it would come in ... or just sucking air due to low fuel level.... I have had to many fuel troubles.. I dont want to be an expert but I have had my tank out 14 times with all different types of Buckets,pumps.. and type of Hose between the pump and the sending unit... I hate the fuel slosh with truck tanks... I ditched it all and put a fuel cell with two 044 pumps..
