    tire pressures?

    Guys
I was wondering what the recommended tire pressures were for front and rear of my 2002 suburban 1500 4wd. I have no manual and the sticker in the door is rubbed away.
    thanks,
    ricky

dont ever go by that number. thats the max psi that tire can handle.

check inside the drivers door jam. that has what the stock tires use.... what size tire is it?

you probably are looking at 30-32 in the front and around 33-35 in the back.

if you over inflate the tire the center tread of the tire will wear out before any other part of the tire.

the psi on the tire is just a max psi that the tire can hold, not the psi you want to drive with.

I thought that would explain itself....usually i run 38 psi all around on my 06, it says 44 psi max. Any less and I start wearing out the inside and outside edges of my Generals from being under inflated.

a lot of people come in telling me they used the number on the tire and they don't believe me thats why there tread is out in the center. what kind of generals are they? only reason i ask is because those are not a very safe tire, they blow out a lot the side wall is very weak

Yep they are the factory general grabbers that came on the truck, after 22k miles the inside and outside edges of the front tires were smooth. The passenger side is developing 1 inch cracks right along where the tread and sidewalls meet..... I guess it's time for new tires already.

I need to find a set of SS wheels
