    Thumbs up

I have about 50,000 miles on the truck now and the tranny feels ok, but I want a shift kit and all the little things done to it. So I figured I might as well get it re-built at the same time. I put the TT3000 in about 2 months ago and I have been pretty hard on it and don't want it to die on me. Just wanted to see what it would cost to get it re-built with a good shift kit and replace all the plastic servos and accumulators? What do you guys think?

Hey, on a kinda related subject, I think putting in a shift kit, servos and replacing the plastic will help out a lot. I just got finished putting in my shift kit with corvette servos and you won't believe the difference it makes. I just need to go back and replace the 1-2 accumulator piston with an aluminum one and put in the billet 4th gear servo and cover and I am done. It shifts just firm enough and there is no doubt when it shifts cause it does it fast, for all the gears. Only took me 6 hours to do it by myself so I think I did good. If you can read english and follow the pictures and stuff almost anyone can do it. Anyway, next is to have Allen remove all TM, you can tell it is there when you get it shifting as hard and fast as it does now. Later

I don't dissagree with you about the the shift kit and servos helping out, I just don't want to spend the money and time then have the tranny shit it's self. I'll fell better if I do it all at once. There are alot of tranny nightmares out there. Some guy went through like 3 or 4 tranny in a month. I don't want that to happen to me.

Dang, I didn't know it would cost that much for a good re-build. I think I might just do the shift kit and servos myself. Then later if I have to get it re-built I can get it done.

    Thanks for the help.

That's not to bad for what you are getting. Has anybody ran one of these Speed Engineering tranny's? They do sound to bad.

not ragging on your claim 02, but In my honest opinion, anybody that says a 4L60E can hold over 600 HP doesnt know too much about these transmissions.
the 60E just wont handle much over 500 in our trucks. just to much wait to get moving.
If you want a trans to hold that much HP you would have to go to the 4L80E.
but hey if that trans shop can support their claim, I would diffinatly like to see it.
I havnt found anyone that can build one bad enough too hold that much.
the guy that I take mine too, builds bad a$$ transmissions for the f-bodies and also for trucks. I have one of his 4L65E conversion transmissions and he says that the 4L60E's just wont hold up.
with all the problems i have had with transmissions. I am very sceptical about transmissions shops claims.
I have heard the "it will hold 500HP no problem", and then 9 transmissions later. they are telling me that I am abusing their transmission with me only putting out around 300HP at the wheels.
so dont get me wrong, I'm not saying your claim is invalid. just trying to let these other guys know that they need to research their trans shops, before they go with a guy that boast about his transmissions holding X amount of power.
