It looks like this thread is almost dead but I have another update. The cooler air is doing wonders for my engine. I tried a 78mm throttle body but my truck slowed down in 60 ft, et and mph. I ran best with my stock body that I ported. My et improved .3 and my mph but almost 2 with better tuning and a port job on my factory TB. My 60 ft still is pretty bad but everything else is looking up. I just got in some 1.8 rockers that I will add before I run again. Also waiting on some more cool air. I can tell a noticeable difference when the temp gets in the 50's.

I was hesitant to install the 1.8 rockers even after I bought them for fear that my mpg would drop. After they were installed, I was suprised to find that it did not drop and may have actually increased with the new rockers. My 60 still is horrible and I could gain a lot by changing to a higher stall convertor. Gonna debate that idea some more as I drive 50 miles a day back and forth to work. Anyone still out there?

I'm assuming your 50 mile commute is mostly highway, correct? Once you're in overdrive and the converter locks, it's the same as a stock stall locked converter. That's why highway mileage is affected very little by high stall converter swaps.

Commute is about 50/50 city/highway. My 60 ft is still in the low 2.4's which is my main et downfall. My 4l60e is still stock which will have to be beefed-up if I continue to make more power. Does anyone know anything about the 6 speed trannies used in the newer trucks? Is the OD gear the same or would there be any benefits to going to it?

6L60e trans

Can anyone give me the gear ratio differences between the 6l60e and 4l60e transmissions? I know it has it's own controller but how much would it drop my rpms at 70mph? Right now with the stock 4l60e, I am at 2250 with 4.10 gears which is hurting my mpg. If the 6l60e has lower first and second gears, that would help my low end problem. Anyone do this swap or know where to find info on it?

never heard of or seen an RPO code for a 6L60e transmission. Are you talking about the 6L80e?
