Just wonder what tables you guys used in edit.. My LTFT's used to be up in the +8- +11 range and I adjusted my IFR down a bit and now im in the 0 - -4 range (which is supposed to be favorable.)

However I still get knock between 1500-2100 rpm under load (4th gear up a hill for instance) when it just doesnt want to down shift.

I havent really been able to find the "right" answer here..everyone says oh yeah edit the IFR... others say the MAF table.

so whats the correct way? - or am i hunting the wrong problem here.

Thanks guys.

I had an experience with a '00 SS camaro that had more knock than a mofo, ended being a bad pcm or the latest calibration fixed it, we replaced his pcm with the updated flash and no knock at all.
Next guess would have been the knock sensors. Have you removed them before?

His car had knock thru every gear, and i recorded up to 12 degrees of KR. After the fix, i was able to add some timing and now his car runs great.

Your ltrims are ok, don't try to redo what GM spend millions on, keep it simple. As long as the ltrims are - you're fine. However, go ahead and try to get them exact, then check it the next day, lol, they are wrong again, hahahahah.

Every hand held tuner , other programmers' pcms i've looked at and recorded all shot + ltrims. It's not good or bad, just you end up chasing a/f ratio a little bit.

later,

allen

I'm pretty happy w/ the ltft's but figured it might help under the curve to cure the knock. I havent checked the sensors yet but im not sure if its really them - mainly because it usually only happens in 4th gear, 25+ % TPS (so under load) and usually between 1500-2100 rpm.

Think its a lack of fuel issue? Or a lack of octane issue? - this is the stock map..
I only see it pull up to 5 deg of timing at most. sometimes its as little as .20..
