Unhappy

I'm looking to purchase a HPP3 part # 30010 that suppose to be for a 2001 LS1 z28/Pon. T/A. Well my engine in my truck is 2000 LS1 Pon. T/A and the HPP3 unit calls for part # 390753, does anyone know if this unit # 30010 will work on my engine ????? The owner of the unit says his z28 is a 2000 with LS1 and it worked fine, unit has been reset to factory. Any help ????

that's a tuff one, i guess the only ppl that would know is hypertech. I know on the ls1edit side, you have to be careful as to which file you flash pcms with, just becuase they're the same year, it may have a different version, which will destroy the pcm is flashed with the wrong version.

just curious, why are you buying the hpp3?

for power or to recalibrate the gears/tires.

later,

allen

I think that 2000 and 2001 have different wireing harnesses but I might be wrong. Check the pinouts!!

Of course I checked with Hypertech and they told me will won't work on the 2000, but they said if it has not been reset it won't work also. But the price is cheap and it was working on a 2000 great. I want it for the ability to change fan turn on/off and gear/tire size. I'm wondering if Hypertech is just changing the number to make more $$. When it comes in I'll post results, the guy I'm buying it from guarantees it will work on my engine. We'll see.

i guess that's all you can really do, hopefully if it wasn't meant for you car, it will give you an error before it tries to change anything ,
