Over the last 3 days my trans has started having 2 different shifts. When I 1st installed the tune (about a week and a 1/2 ago) it shifted a little harder and faster. It still shifts like that most of the time.
The other shift is HARD, and I mean real hard. 1-2 shift at 3000 rpm will bark the tires same with 2-3 shift. 3-2 shift when flooring it will roast the tires. The only way to get it back to what I think is the "normal" programmed shift is to shut off the truck then restart it. I have noticed that it will go into "hard shift mode" some times when I get on it then back off just before it shifts. But not all the time. So is this a sign that my trans is going out? Thanks

I do have another tune going out to you, how about we see if this one fixes it?

I saw that. Thanks
It's the strangest damn thing. But kind of cool at the same time. To be able to get 2nd and 3ed gear with my little 4.8. If I could just get it to shift like that only when I wanted it to. lol. But I think it will either break the trans or U-joint if it keeps this up. My old 69' Camaro with a built turbo 400 didn't shift this hard.

Allen, did you stiffen the shifts on my PCM? I finally got over 1000 miles on the new motor/transmission and decided to romp on mine the other day and it really slammed 2nd gear hard. Now it only has 1st and 3rd. I guess it's time to replace a 2/4 band on a fresh rebuilt tranny.

Dude that dont sound like a band to me. It sounds like a sun shell or the sun gear. I tore up both last year on my tranny but I lost overdrive and rev....Zed

mine still drives just fine but only 1st and 3rd and reverse gears work now. No more 2nd or 4th. It blows to destroy a new tranny. Who rebuilds a strong 2002 4L60E in the Denton area? I hear the internals have all the hard parts in the 02 tranny except it still has the 4 gear suns not the 5 gear.
I had been taking it easy on everything since the engine and trans were both redone prior to the install. The trans had 8k on it and I had a 300mm input drum installed and all clutch packs were in such good shape that they still had the part number printed in ink on the clutch faces.

Go to transmissioncenter.net that should answer some questions and I think your closer to them then I am. I wanted to get the full built version but the little women couldn't see me spending the cash when my dad rebuilds em on the side. So I found as many of the parts on a one day trip to H-town and got her runnin the next day then just ordered the wake up kit. Man I should of waited and ordered more parts but I needed my truck for work...Zed
