I was playing around with my tranny and tuning the other day and i wanted to see how TM affected my trans. I've never experienced it on my truck as much as other's have, because my tranny is built and i've always had it removed before dealing with it.
So, i put most of the tables back to stock and logged some data. I was running about 35deg of timing at WOT and noticed just as the trans shifted, GET THIS!!!!!!
The pcm pulled so much timing (this was on stock z28 tables) that my timing went down to -4 deg's. That is negative four degrees. I know most ppl over doing it when describing it, but my truck literally fell on it's face, the engines rpm came down a little and the trans felt like it was slipping, but it was the engine making less hp.
So, for those of you who have modded their trucks a little, this is what you have coming. It's not tranny problems, it's TM.
So, that's what TM does,
allen

hey, no problem,
1500, the six speeds are also affected by TM, not as much obviously, but they are, the pcm can tell when you're abusing the car and will also pull timing, it will hurt performance also.
later,

What year PCM do you run?
Did you just take out the abuse mode or did you zero the tables under edit?
Also did you notice an improvement in the shift(s), I might be wrong but does't it only take it out during shifts?
