Finally got the truck back from the shop and installed the pcm thats been sitting homeless in my garage for almost a week.
this pretty much sums it up :
Truck is way more responsive than with the 'aggressive' Predator tune and has more power. At WOT it pulls harder and the motor sounds like its finally come to life (It really does sound different/better...might be in my mind)
It has about 60 miles on it so far, not sure how long the 'learn period' is......but its definetely a keeper. Absolutely no problems, just slapped that bad boy in and went for a drive......I was able to nail it from a stop and spin the tires with the cutout open.....something I couldn't do before especially with the cutout creating a huge loss of backpressure/torque.
At first I was concerned that the shifts weren't firm enough, but they are quick, which I guess is really all thats needed instead of a 'firm' shift. I will run the live data on the predator to check out the timing, TM, maf lbs/min etc
So yeah, the truck runs awesome now, and I would recommend this to anyone...it really does blow the hand helds away

I just put my new PCM in from Allen today, and I couldn't be more impressed with the results that I have all ready seen. I have to agree with 03GMC on every coment about The Nelson Tune from Allen.
My roomate called me today at work and told me I had a package from Nelson Performance. Once I was able to get out of the shop for my lunch break I raced home and started to put the new PCM in. The process was extremely simple and with the detail of the "how to's" allen has laid out made the passkey relearn just as easy. On my way back to work I wanted to lay into it but held back to get 10 to 15 miles on it first to make sure everything was ok. On the way home it was on, and I couldn't wait for the next stop light!!! I could tell a big difference in everything from acceleration to shifting. It does feel like the motor has come a live and like a totally diffrent motor. The acceleration and pick up is awesome and the shift points are sweet and I don't have the "lag" between shift points like my stock tune.
Not only am I all ready totally happy with the tune but also with Allen's professionalism and customer service!!! He is the MAN and anyone that buys a handheld programer or any other tune needs a swift kick in the a$$ for not getting a Nelson Tune!!!  :thumb
I can't wait to line up with my friends that are all about talking up their HEMI's.

If it's a dry kit, i'll have to tune for a good middle ground, if it's a wet kit, you can usually get away with a good tune then spray with no problems.
Unfortunately, there is no switch to go back and forth for the ls1's.

I made a thread awhile ago about Ramchargers Timing Tuner.
What it does is allow you to hook it up to your nitrous set up so that when you activate the nitrous, it will retard timing by whatever amount of timing you choose. So basically you can have the best of both worlds. A Nelson tune when N/A, and retarded timing when spraying.
There's are a few members on LS1tech.com who use it and say it is awesome.
