OK. i was messin around tonight and hard wired my radar detector in, and thought while i have the bezel off why not take a look at my gas gage. it jumps all over the place and usually reads empty. so i took the whole instrument gage cluster out and took it apart. messed around with the other needles and they all gave back some resistance and then went back to their previous position(before i moved them). well i moved the gas gage and it just flopped around in circles never going back to its previous position. got to looking at the back side and noticed that there is some kind of windings back there. i wonder if this could be what is causing the gage not to work?
anybody got any ideas.
and yes i allready know about the fuel sending unit, but im not spending $600 for it to go out in three months. thinking about just buying a fuel gage and have it seperate from the OEM system.
