Greetings automotive enthusiasts! I come here to bring beer and lack of knowledge to your online postings.

I own a Silverado, otherwise I should have no business being here. But for sake of argument, lets just say I own a Silverado. And perhaps its a 2001. And there is also a possibility that it has an LM7 5.3 V8/auto/3.42 and is a rc/sb/2wd. And on the off chance, i've lowered it 1/2 and added a K&N FIPK and Borla exhaust. It may possibly have run as quick as 15.1 in the 1/4 mile.

I come here attempting to discover how my truck can no longer suck so bad at E.T.'s and need to know how to waste my not-so-hard earned money on upgrading my truck and attaining E.T.'s in the 13's - without blowing a non-existent budget.

So thats where I'll be. Thanks in advance, and I also apologize for my ignorance.

You can start out with a Nelson custom tune, he's the man around here to get your truck running the way it can! You'll get many other ideas as you browse and post on the site, there are some great and knowledgeable folks around these parts!

you guys all seem pretty impressed with these Nelson tunes. whats the protocol with them? wait until you swap the cam and replace the torque converter and whatever other mods you have - and then they tune the ECM?

and as far as the torque converter, i was looking at the Hughes stuff. is 2500 a good stall speed that wont rip up the tranny? or do you still need additional tranny mods with the 2500 stall speed?

sounds like the best way to pick a cam is to call the manufacturer tech lines, huh?

    thanks for the input.

Hey man .... I'm running a YANK 2600 it actually stalls about 2800. You will need to install a good tranny cooler, and a good shift kit. If not that ol 4L60 want last you to long, but you will love the performance they add.

    Welcome

Yank, and Vigilante are to 2 leading converters..
    pricey but worth the money..

Allen will tune a PCM for ya, you pay for it, he sends it to ya, swap em out, and send the old one back to him, or dont send it back, and pay a bit more for the core charge.
