    newbie from dfw area, tx

Hello, I have a 2001 extended cab 4.8 wanting to put a 5.3 in it. Wanting to hop up a 5.3 and it still be my everyday driver, don't want my gas mileage to completely go to crap. Advice is welcome. Thx

welcome, there are a variety of ways to bump a 5.3l. is there a maxium ($) that you are tryin to spend? you can start with the basics and go from there or could just grab a snail. either way ur gonna need a tune, to be efficient. all stock trucks/cars can and will see an improvement (power/mpg) with a reputable tuner! good luck and ask questions

Don't have a set dollar amount, but don't want to go bankrupt of course. Was thinking of doing headers and a cam.
