Yes your leaving alot on the table at the track but from a roll it was a fun setup and great manners. On the bottle it managed to walk a 418 gto. So it held its own. G is right. 65e 5 pinion planets, 60e has 4. They had to use 5 cause they went to a powder metal and made it weak. So they added another planet the cheap asses. Super servos are a waste IMO a $22 vette servo be plenty.Your tranny will break just depends when. Your buddy is kinda right but like everyone said with that step your giving up 50/70 hp from heads and cam choice and prolly a full second at the track from heads, cam, stall, gear choice. You can daily drive almost anything in LS, all in the tune. You asked for our help and i pomise we are faster and have broke and tried every which setup you can think of. Just my $.02
    bad 60fts?

When youre at the track say for instance shawns run (ecld-07) ran an 11.0 1/4 with a bad 60 foot your time slip breaks down in feet, and help you learn what to improve on it looks like this
reaction time: how long you sat at the light after the green, has nothing to do with your time.
60 foot: how long it took you to travel 60 feet, 1.6 and under is pretty good in a truck.
    330 foot:
    660 foot/1/8th mile
    1000 feet:
    1320 foot/ 1/4 mile

The better 60 foot time you have the better overall time youll have at the 1320 mark, in shawns case if he would have had a good launch aka 60 foot time he woulda been easily into the 10s.

So for you since youll be on motor small stall = slow 60 foot = slow ass truck

Haha, ok ok we'll explained. How much diff. Is between a 228 cam and a 232/234? Performance wise, noticeable diff. Between a 3400 stall compared to a 3600? Jus asking, obviously bigger better, but jus wanna understand cuz everyone tells me what to get,I wanna understand why. Lol.

the cam question will hafta be answered by someone else, a stall lets the transmission slip so as to not engage the driveline until 3000, 3200, 3400, 3600 etc. (which every you buy) rpms at which point the tires start rotating. Thats the simplest way i can explain it, its a lot more technical than that

More air in and out is more power. Simple as that. A good mid/upper 230s cam will gain 30+ hp over a 224. I liked a 236/242 with a 3800 stall, that would be badass. But usable power is more important than any peak power on a dyno. Pick your cam and then pick your stall. Not the other way around. They need to complement each other.

Been gone for a bit, but finally ordered my Texas speed 228r cam,.588 lift 112 lsa single spring. 7.4 pushrods. 3200 ss yank converter.Pacesetter headers w. Magnaflow exhaust. Hopefully its street friendly and meets my mid-high 12 secs in the 1/4 mile goal. Gonna use my 4l60e trans w. A shift kit w. Super servo, cancel out acumalator pistons. Anything else you guys suggest?
