    Talking Hi... I'm new here!

Hey, my name's Shane. I live in London, Ontario, Canada. No we don't live in igloos, and I'll try to keep the "eh's" to a minimum . I just bought a '92 Sierra with a blown engine, so I figured... I might as well start this build off right. So I picked up a 6.0l that was supposedly out of an 01 Escalade with 150,000km. I'm going to be needing a LOT of help with this build. I'm still trying to decide which transmission to get, it will most likely be an 80e because I'll be pulling a trailer with this truck. I'm a Licensed Tech, but mainly work on newer vehicles that don't require much more than brakes and oil changes, so any help and/or suggestions would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

    Another damned Canadian! Great!

Welcome aboard. The 80e would be great for you. I wouldn't even think about a 60e.

Thanks all... I still have to source a tranny and PCM, but the engine will come with the wiring harness. I read through the thread on how to swap the 60e for an 80e, looks simple enough. I can't wait to get started, but the wife says it has to wait until after the new year, so I won't be checking in too frequently until I get started. I'm going to take LOTS of pics and keep everyone updated. It has to be done by March.
