    Northern Newbie

Greetings all. I have been lurking for a couple of months here, lurking and learning.
It started with a 2000 Silverado for $500. Body and suspension were totally bagged but the 4L60E and 4.8 were rebuilt, in excellent shape. Couldn't let a deal go by. So with the motor and trans, I figured that because I was bored with my '83 C10, I would give it a new home. This truck has been an ongoing project for years. Change this, change that. It started as a bare frame and I kept adding parts until it resembled a truck. Now I am going to pull the shiny stuff out of it and drop in the 4.8, should be a good winter project.

Uh ohhhh, I'm not sure how Frenchy is gonna feel about havin another Canadian in the mix. LOL

Again, welcome. If you were a little bit closer I'd say we could help eachother with installs. My engine is out right now getting ready to be rebuilt.

    Greetings.
Yup, I think we may be several hours away still. What engine are you redoing? I am putting in a 4.8, and if things go good, I will rebuild a 5.3 for it.
To buy used 5.3's up here is expensive. $1500 minimum for a well used one, so I usually head across the border to buy "stuff" in Duluth or the Cities.
I like your Hummer avatar. I sucked in enough dust from those things at KAF that I still bury my face in my shirt when I see one.

I'm fine with more of us around. But this guy makes me look like I'm in the sunny south. Put this is perspective, he's about 22 hours drive north of me, and still in the same province. I'm a 22 hour drive North of DFW.

I'm boring my 5.3 to ls1 specs. Blew my #8 piston si I decided to do something a lil different. We get ALOT of Canadians around here. All of them come here to go shopping on the weekends

That pic in my avatar was at BAF. KAF sucks just about as bad. Hopefully I won't be back there for a while.
