    Noob in Colorado

    Hey all!

I'm going to be strait up with you all... I'm not a GM guy, the last one I worked on was a 67 1/2 ton YEARS ago!

I'm working on a friends 99 suburban 1500 4x4. Suspected spun bearing. We are looking into options of easy swap motors. The 'burb is a daily driver that does 600 mile road trips every other weekend from western Colorado to Denver, (mountain passes). We started looking at a Gm crate replacement, then thought.. what's an easy swap that would work?

The funds are available, just not much in the way of them.

Yes, I've found the swap threads and am still reading, just a bit overwhelming the first time though.

    Thanks for any input,
    Rusty
