    HI+ rear diff question

hey guys, im new to the site, lots of good stuff on here!! i love what your all doing! and to whomever created this site; you, my friend.... are a god! lol
so i know everyone loves to thrash on the guys with the 4.8L. i get it, screw you, but i get it. HAHA

i guess i should start with a question straight off.

    rear end gearing.

    2001 silverado 4.8 300hp(ish)
6 in lift on 35's and ill probly go bigger when i can afford it.

im lookin for a decent balance between gas mileage and get-up-and-goability

so my question is how tall of gears should i put in? its got the factory rear end with 342's and im swappin it all out for a eaton posi-locker with either 373 or 411 gears. any recomendations? am i even on the right track?

With the 35's i would for sure go atleast 4.10's.
What have you done to the 4.8 to get it to 300ish?

4.8 in my truck with 35's.

You're gonna want to do 4.56.

    Best prices I found, nationaldrivetrain.com

    Excellent turnaround time too.

With 35's, a 4.8, and planning to go up in tire size, definitely do 4.56's. I have 37's on my truck with a 6.0 and wish i had 4.88's.

strong 4.8 there. Id say at least 4.56... from 3.42 to 3.73 or 4.10 is not worth the hassle of doing front and back.... guessing your 4x4... let us in on some info on your ride........nice first post....

The best advice I have ever heard:... Only take B( . Y . )ST advice from someone that is CURRENTLY running a turbo setup close to, or bigger than what you want......
