    New Kentucky boy & I don't drive a truck.

    well... i do, but it's a ford explorer.

    I'm here because i've got a nissan 240sx with a 05 5.3l. This site seems like a pretty good resource for info. I think i'm gonna enjoy my stay.

    my vehicles include:

    1990 Nissan 240sx
    - 2005 5.3
    - 2000 T56

    1990 Nissan 240sx (dd)

    1994 Ford Explorer (off road rig)

    1978 Custom
    - Honda goldwing frame
    - supercharged 1000cc Honda 4 cylinder

    welcome man, never heard of anybody dropping a 5.3 in a 240. Sounds like it would be fun to drive. TTIWWOP

    iv always wonted to do a 240 ls conversion iv seen a ls1 240 with a t56 but never a 5.3 not much dif tho how hard was the swap and how bad was the clearances under the hood

    here's the car

    both 240's












    The specs are:
    2005 5.3 w/ 18k miles
    T/A T56 w/ hurst short throw shifter and custom short stick
    stock dbw setup rewired for c5 vette pedal
    ls1 intake
    fbody front accessories
    ls2 GTO oil system

    Hopefully, if i stay on schedule, it's about 2 weeks from being in - running and driving. I wanted to be able to say i did the entire build/swap by myself w/ no help. which is becoming a big pain in the ass.

    I'm trying to find a decent cam upgrade right now that's cheap and won't require my changing the valve springs.

    Oh... and as far as money goes, so far I am ~ $2,200 into this.

    well you could do a ls1 or 6 cam but you really need to chang the springs just to be safe
