2006 Silverado
This truck was bought brand new by my Dad in June of '06, he was after a cheap plain truck. He found this thing and had to have it because when he was around my age he had a black '70 C10 shortbox (Gotta get a picture of it on here, think the truck from "Dazed and Confused") it had a bad nasty 350, Muncie 4 speed, and a 12 bolt with 4.56's. He blew it up racing some big old Caddy with a 500 from town to home. About 10 miles. Rebuilt it and rocked it for a couple more years 'til it rotted out. Anyway point is after a month of having the '06 there was talk of a 454 (he's behind the times). This is about the time I joined this site, read the V8 conversion thread and seen a video of someones truck with the STS setup. Holy shit, these things have potential.
Fast forward to June of 2008, truck became mine. I was too damn broke at the time to do anything. Some little cosmetic mods, tinted the windows, ditched the plain old steelies for some Avalanche wheels, got some headlight covers and just polished the bejesus out of it.
It was staying stock because I was spending all my money on the tool trucks and on my new found baby, a '77 D-150 with an original 440. 1 of 80 440 half tons built for '77.
June 2009 - I landed a job at a GM dealer, which also happened to be the #1 GMPP dealer in Ontario, and does a bit of performance type work. Well the gears start turning
September 2009 Got my ass handed to me on my way to work by a co-workers Z71. Screw it. First thing I do in the morning was go to the parts dept and told them what I needed. That afternoon I had a 2005 flex-fuel 5.3 with harness and accesories in the bed of the truck.
Well I couldn't put it in stock, that wouldn't do. Picked up a Comp XE-R spec'd at 220/222 .580/.580 on a 114. Yes, I planned on boost. A NP front mount setup.
Scratch that, too much damn hassle and not enough support for it here. And the kit is a little on the ugly side. So I'm going to rock it N/A for a while and go TVS2300 when I can.
