    Gear question

Well I have been having problems with the mighty 4L60E and I am looking for a 4L80e. I am going to change gears also currently it is a 4.8 with 3.73. mods are tune, headers, pulleys, CAI, and fans. I haven't really decided where I am going with the engine but I am starting with a trans. I am undecided on what gears 4.10, 4.56, or 4.88. On a 4l80e how are the cooler lines attached to the trans?
    Step 1. crus at it.
    Step 2. get a hammer.
    Step 3. torch it.

I would do 4.10, but that's just because I still drive on the e-way alot and my tires are only 33". A 4.10 may also be about the same in a 4l80e and your 3.73 is in a 4l60e.
GET OUT OF HERE WITH THAT RICER MATH!

Don't bother changing gears, just a put in a 10" 3000rpm stall converter. It will allow the engine to come up on the power curve quicker as you accelerate.

    80e behind a 4.8L???

As for the cooler lines, it all depends on what year 80e you have. Some have the coolant lines stacked on top of each other (like the 60e) and some have one in front and one in back.

4.8L + 80e is a common setup for GM utility vans.
