What all is needed to do this swap? has anyone done this swap? I have 5.3 motor oil pan to throttle body, ignition coils, but no engine harness. Can i use the one from my 4.3 with some conversion or do i need an all new one? also what about the computer, the electronics are my main concern then will come the accessories.

hey whats up, im lightning killer over on fsc just so you know, theres some good info over here. allen(farmtruc) has modified a 99+ truck harness for his 94 truck w/ an ls1, he wrote some killer swap tips and info pages, just look in the reference section. i went with a painless harness($500) and sold my stocker i had on my LS1/t56.

also, Oscar over at Dynatech(he is a sponsor here) is very helpful, i believe his name is "LS1pro" on ebay, but he can take your 4.3 harness and make a plug and play harness for you i would assume, for less money than the complete harnesses, but dont quote me on that, you'd have to ask him. then theres Speartech, S&P, and LHT....but with those be prepared to spend a little money...to the tune of $700+ for a complete harness you may not even need.

that's too funny, hahha.

i can post more info if you need it, just need to go thru my list of junk and organize it,
make a list of everything you need, that helps alot. the mounts, wiring and shaft will be your biggest concern.
Your stock gauges will work.

post some more specific questions and i'll be glad to answer them,

did the write up help?
