After your manifolds/headers...What does the rest of your exhaust system consist of? Both header pipes into one muffler or two separate mufflers? Then over the axle & straight back, or??? End them in front of the tires, or??? What brand/type/style of muffler? Thinking of something more on the quiet side, but without flow restriction. Thanks, Gar

I got 2 1/2" pipes into 2 1/2" Hi flow cats. From there it's 2 1/2" pipes through (2) 2 1/2" FLow Masters over the axle with legal turn downs which 45 out back and 45 out the side with chrome tips that you can barely see on the sides. It still plenty loud and vibrates the panels in the truck. If you want it quieter, go with 3 chamber mufflers. If you turn down in front of the rear axle it will sound great but it's loud. I'd be glad to email you some shots of the system I just had put on my 94 shortbed .I just have to take them . It's a true dual system with a shop made Xpipe. Set me back about $550 . Somehow , the guy who did the job (and he did a pretty good job ) forgot to put one of the cats back on . I didn't notice it for a few days until I got under the truck to give it a good look over . When I took it back , they just removed the other cat . It's not a high dollar system but I think it looks pretty good for a daily driver. Is any retuning necessary now that the cats are gone ? By the way , I told them I didn't want it to sound too loud and they definitely recommended against Flowmasters. They had installed a set of Flowmasters for some one who brought the truck back after about 2 months and had them replaced with something quieter . They did say that having catalytic converters does help to quiet it some though and I did hear a new F150 with them and it sounded good ,but this truck had 4 cats from the factory. Hasta la vista, bro!

Have flowmasters. Yes, they are a little louder, but they also breath. What guys need to understand is, sure put that K&N airfilter on, but having smallish/limited mufflers is like trying to run with one finger up your nose. Not only does it look dorky, it also means your lungs (your engine) cannot breath as well. Simply put, your engine is a giant airpump....

Ive got 02 f-body manifolds, back to dual 2.5" pipes with an h-pipe. Then a couple magnaflows right at the end. Sounds pretty sweet, not too loud. I did it all at home with a cheap bender since I didnt need any drastic bends. Pipe costed about $100, mufflers around $60 each and manifolds/flanges about $50.
